Mel B’s attempts to smooth things over at the party were rebuffed

MEL B has broken her silence after a “frosty reunion” with Geri Horner at Victoria Beckham’s birthday party.

Geri and Mel came face to face on Saturday night at the swanky 50th bash in London.

The reunion came after Scary Spice admitted she felt “really sad” for her bandmate Geri after her Red Bull Racing chief husband Christian Horner’s leaked text message scandal.

It sounds like there’s some tension between Mel B and Geri from the Spice Girls. Mel B accused Geri of lying about her age during the group’s early days, which might have caused some friction. Geri unfollowed Mel B on Instagram, though she still follows the other Spice Girls. Despite Mel B’s efforts to patch things up with Geri at a recent party, it seems the reception was quite cold.

Last night, Mel appeared to extend an olive branch once again as she shared a photo of the girl group posing in their party glam at Victoria’s bash.

She shared a gushing tribute that reflected their glittering careers and band ethos in the nineties – and said that she loved Geri, Victoria, Emma and Mel C.

Mel wrote alongside the photo: “What an amazing girl power weekend with all my girls, I have soooo much love and respect for you ALL #friendshipneverends.”

Last month Mel exposed fellow bandmember Geri for allegedly lying about her age.

She claimed that at the height of the Spice Girls’ fame, when they were jetting across the globe, Geri would keep her passport away from prying eyes so that the others couldn’t catch a glimpse of her real age.

Speaking on the Olivia Attwood podcast in March, she said: “No one knows how old Geri is. No one’s seen her passport.

“I mean, I know we’ve travelled the world, but I still don’t know how old she is.

“She claims she just had her 50th birthday, but I don’t believe her.”

The Spice Girls reunited at Victoria’s private birthday celebration over the weekend at an exclusive venue in Mayfair, near her flagship store. The five former bandmates thrilled attendees with a performance of their hit song “Stop,” captured on video by Victoria’s husband, David Beckham. However, The Sun reported that Mel B’s efforts to reconcile with Geri didn’t yield the desired results.

According to a source familiar with the situation, the stars, who rose to fame with their No. 1 hit “Wannabe” in 1996, had a tense encounter at the party. “Mel attempted to patch things up with Geri at the event, but it didn’t go smoothly,” the source revealed. “Despite Mel’s efforts to lighten the mood, Geri appeared disinterested and walked away. During the group photo session, Geri made a point to keep her distance from Mel, which created an awkward atmosphere.”

“Geri wanted to be there to celebrate Victoria and have a good laugh with everyone, not talk to Mel about the embarrassing things she’s said about her.”
